Bridesmaids (2011)

Day Two- Bridesmaids

Plot: Annie ( Kristen Wiig) has been chosen by longtime best friend Lillian ( Maya Rudoph) to be her maid of honour at her wedding. Anna is excited for her yet is feeling left behind in her life because she has lately been failing at her carrer as well as managing her personal life. With a great big responsibility to handle, she is introduced to the four other bridemaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper). This bunch of bubly, colourful girls all work together to make Lillian's wedding perfect, but the way there is rough.

Critics: "Finally, a female ensemble comedy that balances realistic characters with smart laughs and side-splitting farce."- Anna Smith 4/5
"I suspect that Wiig is funnier when she's not so frenetically intent on finding 101 ways to make a fool of herself."- Sandra Hall 1.5/5

Suki: Funny, but not better that the Hangover. I loved this ensembled cast! The realism of the sterotypical image of various women. No one was over shining one another, it was a perfect balance. I know it's humor, but some parts I just couldn't help my self feeling down for Anne. I know that gross feeling of your best friend drifting away and the new friend is a complete bitch.

Meg... I love her! I felt as though this movie finally focused on the most common types of women. If you look around the street, it's filled with hard working a little chubby women. Not the glam Louboutin wearing hot one. Her acting was so true and hilarious.
I felt like this movie stayed realistic with Meg and Annie that all women can relate to, rather than the hot sexy rich one. I still love her character though, don't get me wrong!
